I am listening to a great video called The Science of Happiness with Harvard instructor, Tal Ben-Shahar. Thanks to one of our awesome clients for sharing.
Ben-Shahar is talking about having self-concordant goals, goals aligned with personal interests and values. He discusses how when you find meaning and pleasure in life in the same activity, happiness is often at the intersection. I love his concept. For him, he says teaching is this activity. It’s meaningful and brings him pleasure and as a result, happiness. For me, it’s running a company that exists to do excellent work that effects change in our world.

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance. The wise man grows it under his feet. – James Oppenheim
