An Evening with Chef Andrew Bouley.

Last week, I had the most delightful experience. Chef Andrew Bouley and his lovely girlfriend Stephani came into our home and prepared a special and delicious meal for us. Andrew had reached out just a few weeks prior to let us know that his company, Urban Earth Consulting, was new to St. Simons Island. He wanted to collaborate his food and beverage consulting services with our marketing, advertising, and media services. Andrew is a Harvard Grad and a trained personal chef with experience at the Greenbrier and Sea Island, and after exchanging a few emails, he asked if he might offer us a private chef dinner experience.

The theme that he presented was “A Crisp Autumn Evening.” The menu consisted of curried pumpkin soup; vegetable spaghetti made with shaved carrots; an entrée of apple cider–jerked shrimp with a lavender fruit salad; and for dessert, raspberry cheesecake parfaits.

The combination of flavors with each dish was extraordinary—some pairings I had never tasted before. The freshly peeled carrots with the cool, refreshing Greek yogurt was especially remarkable. And the sweet pumpkin soup with the touch of spicy curry was amazing. Jack said the shrimp was the best he had ever tasted—and he requested seconds on the dessert.

I highly recommend Andrew if you have a special event or are simply looking for an excellent chef or an excellent consultant for your restaurant.
